ICF-koti

Seurakunta on ollut itselle jo pitkään tärkeä osa elämää. Seurakuntarakennus on kuin koti ja ihmiset siellä kuin toinen perhe. Joensuussa vapis, Lappeenrannassa hellarit sekä opiskelijailtaperhe, Kansanlähetysopisto Ryttylässä, tärkeitä koteja kaikki. Olinkin löytänyt netistä ja kaverin suosituksella ICF-seurakunnan (International Christian Fellowship) jo ennen kuin olin saapunut Dornbirniin. Ensimmäisenä sunnuntaina suuntasin tieni tänne. Puheet ovat saksaksi, useat laulut kuitenkin myös englanniksi. Yleensä olen onneksi löytänyt jonkun, joka on tulkannut minulle puheen englanniksi. Muutamat vaihtarikaverinikin ovat käyneet vierailemassa seurakunnassa ja ovat tykänneet.

ICF:n porukkaan on ollut helppo tutustua ja kristittyjen kanssa on muutenkin nopeasti samalla aaltopituudella, sillä ihmiset jakavat samanlaiset arvot elämässä. ICF tuntuu jo nyt kodilta, vaikken ole täällä vielä pitkään ehtinyt käymään. Seurakunnalla kaikki halaavat toisiaan nähtäessä, vaikka oltaisiin tavattu vain kerran aikaisemmin. Vaikkei aina puhutakaan samaa kieltä, jää kohtaamisista lämmin ja läheinen fiilis.

Kokouksen jälkeen menemme usein porukalla ravintolaan syömään. Välillä olen myös päässyt puhumaan saksaa porukassa. Se on vielä haastavaa, mutta vähitellen kieli vahvistuu. Suomessa olen välillä tehnyt tekniikkaa seurakunnalla ja täällä olen myös päässyt testaamaan valojen ohjausta. Niin siistiä!

Church has been an important part of my life for a long time. The building is like home and people there like another family. Free church in Joensuu, Pentecostal church and student evening family in Lappeenranta, Kansanlähetysopisto in Ryttylä, important homes all of them. I had found ICF church (International Christian Fellowship) from internet and also my friend recommended that for me even before I came to Dornbirn. First Sunday I found my way to this church. The speeches are in German, although most of the songs in English. Luckily every time I have found someone to translate for me. Some of my excange friends have also visited the church and they have liked it.

It has been easy to get to know the people in ICF and it's easy to connect with other Christians because you share same values in life. ICF feels already like home even though I have been going here for just a little time. Everyone hugs each other in the church when we meet even if we have met only once before. Even though we don't always speak the same language the meeting feels warm and close.

After the service we often go to a restaurant for eating. Sometimes I have been talking with people in German. It is still challenging but little by little the langauge gets easier. In Finland I have sometimes volunteered with AV technology in church and here also I got to test operating lights. So cool!
